Celebrating Two Years

Two years of collaboration; two years of creation; two years of absolute chaos. ✨

We wanted to take a moment away from all the madness to celebrate and thank every single person who helped us in this wild and wondrous journey—producing six shows across four continents including world premiers in Melbourne, Toronto, Prague, and San Jose.

And although we are a beast still finding its way amongst the wild (with many thorns and thistles now tangled amongst our fur)—we couldn’t do it without all of you.

Thank you, from us creatures to you critters. 🐊🖤

ORO

The sky is torn open; the seas are on fire. The Gods have stepped down from the Heavens to intervene. Join us—and them—as they come together to forge new myths, honour the Earth, and celebrate the birth of the unknown.

Oro is a new exploration of immersive theatre, ritual movement, innovative design, and hybrid language playwriting (English / Spanish) that seeks to unearth the potent narrative of the most ancient storytellers—Gods. Merging mythology and theatre, the project draws upon Costa Rican nightlife as a vital inspiration for new artistic perspectives to emerge and evolve.

ANAEMIA

A body stands alone in a makeshift bedroom littered with remants of the person they used to be. Staring into the mirror, facing the demons lurking just beyond their reach, a single trickle of blood snakes down their chin. Attempting to rid themselves of the filth (or the truth), they quickly wipe the blood away—but it will not stop. 🥀

Witnessing the seemingly endless cycle of bleed and bandage, the audience quickly become voyeurs in a hidden world of both anatomical and psychological turmoil, watching as the the blood becomes captor in an age-old battle of repression and inevitable transformation. 🌹

Presented as part of the Prague Quadrennial 2019.

MONKEY MOM (Or Satan and a Housewife)

Janet, a middle-aged housewife and mother of three, is a perfectly ordinary woman in every single way except one: she’s a monkey mom. Coddling her empty nest and broken heart, she adopted a wild animal as her newest offspring, but life as she knew it has been turned upside down, literally. Just when she thinks life cannot get any more chaotic, she receives an unexpected visitor: the Dark Lord himself. 👹

Monkey Mom is an absurd and macabre exploration of domesticity, dominance, and mortal sin. Infused with comedy and dark banter, this triad performance exemplifies the beast in us all, and begs the question: aren’t we all just monkeying around? 🐒

THE FUNERAL

A translucent plastic bag dances amongst the ghosts of the dead. Discarded fragment or portal to a netherworld, the body is remade in plastic and a funeral is held. 🌹

Part material dissection / part imaginary biographical assemblage. This hybrid ritual calls for a retelling of final rites and asks of an immortal object to speak truth to a mortal ghost. Slipping between ritual mourning and macabre reunion, spirits are called, ashes are scattered, asnd the dead is buried—only to be born again. 🔥

PRESS PLAY

to Feb 9

PRESS PLAY

Two women hide inside a lonely motel room on a forgotten road. Celebrating and mourning their last night together, they discuss love, sex, drugs, and the afterlife. Shifting between memory and surreal fantasy, their discussions spin into an intricate web of lust and longing, asking the question: is this the end of the world? Press play to find out. ⚡️

Press Play is a savage journey into queer intimacy, magical realism, and ancient mythology. Witnessing the often misconstrued representation of queer femme bodies in performance, the work delves into these portrayals and offers a raw and honest high-voltage duet. Their dialogue, a seemingly endless game of questions and dreaming, blends with vivid imagery to create a compelling and ferocious story of love and loss. 🌹

Who are they? Why have they come here? Where will they go? Step into this twilight world and maybe you, like them, will find the answers amongst the stars. ✨🔮
